NRC Research Scientist Carol Coohey received a $75,000 grant in July 2023 from the Telligen Community Initiative (TCI) to study peer and employer challenges in diverse Iowa communities that will support and grow a skilled, integrated, and recovery-oriented peer workforce.

Coohey and the co-investigators will use study findings to develop curricula, write a TA strategic plan, and broadly disseminate a best practices peer supervision guide. 

TCI exists to provide philanthropic support to nonprofit organizations and community coalitions. It supports community-based projects in Iowa, Illinois, Colorado, and Oklahoma. TCI's funding priorities and areas of funding interest include social determinants of health and healthcare workforce development.
